Coaching and Mentoring
A coach asks the questions and a mentor answers the questions. I have always have the image of a mentor as being some wise guru who knows all of the answers to every question. While it is true that a good mentor is someone who knows their particular industry,(for example the Armed Forces or medicine) the skills come in facilitating exploring together the situations that may arise, rather than offering all of the answers all of the time.

CBT Counselling

Counselling Skills
Often we just simply need someone to talk to. We do not want to delve into our past or look for career development. I personally refer to this as “coffee table therapy” and it can be useful to sit with a cup of tea or coffee and speak to someone who is impartial and non-judgemental. It may develop into requiring further specialist therapies such as hypnosis, but this is something that can be discussed if the need arises.
